Hellenic Association for Aerosol Research

The Hellenic Association for Aerosol Research (HAAR) is a nonprofit professional organization for scientists and engineers who wish to promote and communicate Science and Technology (S&T) in the field of Aerosol research.

HAAR aims to the exchange of information among members and with other disciplines through conferences, symposia, and workshops.

HAAR membership represents all areas of aerosol science including:
Air Pollution, Instrumentation/Measurement, Aerosol Chemistry, Material Synthesis,
Aerosol Physics, Pharmaceutical Aerosols, Occupational and Public Health, 
Filtration/Separation, Atmospheric Sciences, Combustion, Biological Aerosols,
Metrology/Standards, Indoor Air Quality, and Radioactive Aerosols/Nuclear Safety.

HAAR was founded in 2005 and officially recognized by the Greek courts on February 14th, 2006.
The first Scientific meeting  and elections for the board of directors of HAAR took place in Thessaloniki (May 23, 2006).

On August 2006, HAAR was admitted as member of EAA by the European Aerosol Assembly (EAA).

On 2008, HAAR hosted the European Aerosol Conference 2008 in Thessaloniki (August 24-29, 2008). More than 700 participants from more than 40 countries attended this event.

On August 2014, HAAR was admitted as member of IARA by the International Aerosol Research Assembly (IARA).

HAAR organizes every year open workshops in the facilities of its members in collaboration with companies related to aerosols.

In addition, HAAR offers financial support for the participation of PhD students among HAAR members in the European Aerosol Conferences, every year.
